Is there really a difference between LED and regular light bulbs?

LEDs use less energy than incandescent bulbs because diode lamps are more efficient and energy-saving than filament lamps. LED bulbs use more than 75% less energy than incandescent bulbs. At low power levels, the difference is even greater. The bright LED floodlight only uses 11 to 12 watts and produces light output comparable to a 50 watt incandescent bulb.

What is an LED light bulb?
Technically speaking, LED bulbs are not light bulbs - LED represents "light-emitting diodes". They are miniature semiconductors (diodes) wrapped in plastic to protect the components and focus light. According to Dictionary. com, a diode is a "semiconductor device with two terminals that typically only allow current to flow in one direction." Current enters the anode (+) and exits the cathode (-). LEDs don't even have filaments like light bulbs.
What is the difference between LED and incandescent lamps?
When we talk about 'ordinary light bulbs', we refer to incandescent light bulbs, a type that has existed since Thomas Edison patented his invention in 1879. These light bulbs have luminous filaments that generate heat and light when energy flows through them. On the other hand, LEDs have electron flow to generate photons - the light we can see. Photons produce almost no heat. LEDs require less energy to produce the same brightness as incandescent bulbs and have a longer duration.
But isn't the cost of LED higher?
In the past, the initial cost of LED was approximately twice that of incandescent bulbs. But the cost has been decreasing, and it is now difficult to find light bulbs that are not LED. That's because they are much more efficient than incandescent bulbs and can save money in the long run. This makes them the preferred products in the lighting industry.
